What I Do

I am an engineer who enjoys designing & building large-scale services that have direct, user-facing impact.

Outside of engineering, I find enjoyment in designing products & working on organizational optimizations — thus entrepreneurship has a natural draw for me. I have worked at large companies, small companies, founded start-ups & advised other start-ups.

Disney Plus — Serving Personalized Content at Scale.

I currently work @ Disney Streaming Services as a Senior Engineer on the Personalized Discovery Team.

My team powers anything and everything that gets visually presented on Disney Plus starting from the overall layout of a page to the content presented on each row & view. We also personalize that experience — @ scale In real-time.

ReservEat — Your Personalized & Automated Planning Assistant.

Figuring out plans with friends turned out to be difficult enough that Rohan & I set out to solve it. What is solving planning? Automating all the steps involved in a convenient, easy-to-use mobile app of course.

AWS re:Invent — I gave a talk on building applications that scale for millions of concurrent users.

Building CRUD apps are a dime-a-dozen these days. There are tools and frameworks that help you stand up an API in one tap. However, taking that system from 1000 users to a million concurrent users & optimizing to save each and every millisecond is not a solved problem.

I gave a talk at AWS re:Invent that demystifies how to build systems that can scale.

 

XactSpot — Solving Parking One Spot At A Time.

Circa 2017 parking was a problem — some would say it still is. In response, I and two others set out to find a way that we could create a scalable solution to enable spot discovery & optimize parking management. This B2B2C solution manifested itself in the form of XactSpot.

Goldman Sachs — I worked on systems that facilitated ForEx Trading every day.

Goldman Sachs is an alma-mater of sorts for me. I interned there in 2018 & took my first job out of school on the Emerging Markets Foreign Exchange Trading Team as a Software Engineer.

READING — Yes, it deserves a heading in all-caps.

I read extensively. I read Sci-Fi, economics, history, & mystery.

Being an avid fan of literature, I like to share what I’m currently reading & my thoughts on things I have read.
